Abu Dhabi buses charge a flat fare of 1 dirham, which is USD $0.27. Fare is paid by placing the exact amount into a fare box as one boards the bus at the front door. Ojra Day and month passes are available.
Ojra Daily passes are available for sale at a cost of 3 dirhams (approximately USD $0.82), entitling the holder of the pass to unlimited daily travel onboard Abu Dhabi local buses. Ojra passes can be purchased at authorised sellers throughout the city.
Special Ojra passes are available to senior citizens and those with special needs which allow the holder to travel free on Abu Dhabi buses.
Boarding and alighting is only permitted at designated bus stops, which are located throughout the island. The bus stops are located relatively close to each other.
As with most buses in the UAE, the front rows of seats (2 rows of 4 facing sideways) are priority seating for ladies. Males occupying those seats are required to give up their seats in the event of a lady standing.
